Health and Human
Services Departments Combine to Reduce
Health Disparities
In a report titled
“Common Ground” the county presented a
plan to reduce Health Disparities in
Fulton County. Responding to a ranking
of “F” overall by the Georgia Department
of Community Health in April 2008, the
report included action plan with
benchmarks that take into account the
“social determinants” of health status
such as unemployment and social
inequity.
The focus of the
project is the Lack of Access to Quality
Care; the number of Illness Events and
Visits to Emergency Rooms for
Non-Emergency Conditions. For more
