Bus Service to Harriett G.
Darnell Senior Facility
Scheduled for Elimination"
MARTA officials have proposed the elimination of Route 57 which serves the
Fulton County Harriett G. Darnell Senior Facility, located in Northwest
Atlanta. An (award-winning) facility providing educational, physical and
social services to over 200 (unduplicated) senior adults per day, many
registered facility participants and staff are transit-dependent MARTA
riders.
Citing budget pressures, MARTA officials have also notified the Board of
Commissioners that Route 113 which serves the Helene S. Mills Center located
in Downtown Atlanta may also be discontinued. A final vote by the MARTA
Board is scheduled for Monday, June 28, 2010 at 10:00am.
