The Fulton County Tax Commissioner is responsible for the billing and collection of real and personal taxes for the City of Atlanta and Fulton County.

The Tax Commissioner manages the registration and titling of cars, trucks, trailers, motorcycles, mobile and motor homes, and any other motorized vehicles using Georgia's highway system.

• 4-13-10: Tax Commissioner Releases Fulton "TAD Revenues" Report

  Based upon records maintained by the Tax Commissioner, Fulton County collected and forwarded to Fulton cities - including the City of Atlanta $73 million dollars in tax "increments" to support the cities' "tax allocation districts" from 1999 to 2008.

   

  Distributions to the City of Atlanta TADS from Fulton tax revenues include:

  Atlanta Station          $21,250,089.35          (2000)

  Eastside TAD             $10,170,084.83          (2004)

  Stadium TAD             $90,646.74                (2007)

• 10-8-09: "Tax Commissioner's Salary Issues Unresolved; Fulton Tax Bills Delivered for Mailing on October 5, 2009"

  The IT Department has delivered Fulton County Tax Bills to the Tax Commissioner (Author Ferdinand) for mailing not later than Thursday, October 15, 2009.

• 10-2-09: Weekly Status Report 2009 Tax Billing; All Atlanta Tax Bills Delivered Friday, October 2; Printing continues in Fulton County

• 9-30-09: Training & Travel Report Released; Office of The Tax Commissioner #1

  A review of the "Travel & Training Expenditures Report" for the period January 2009 to July 2009 has disclosed that the Department of the Tax Commissioner has the highest expenditure for travel excluding the Criminal Justice Department.

   

  Tax Commissioner expenditures for the period total $31,199.17.  In the "Deficit Reduction Plan" adopted by the Board of Commissioners, departmental travel has been restricted to mandatory training only.
